What Stood Out:

The chemistry between the leads — sharp banter and heat — makes the intense scenes engaging, and Josh’s dual nature as both threat and protector keeps the story unpredictable. 

Likes:

Bold, intense dark romance with strong emotional stakes. 

Witty banter and electric chemistry between protagonists. 

Fast pacing with suspense and twists. 

Dislikes:

Some plot elements can veer into extreme or unlikely territory.

Aly’s extended family did not flow with the plot how I think Allen wanted.

Would I Recommend?

Yes — for adults who enjoy dark romance with morally gray leads and high heat. Not recommended for readers who prefer light or traditional romance.

I feel like Lights Out could be a ‘tamer’ version of Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton. (don’t kill me)!

This was my first ‘true’ spicy book and I thought it read well. I will be reading the sequels!
